This project was born on 9-9-9 during GOF workshop at Mt. Shasta. The first eleven cities of light was downloaded on this day.
Planetary City of Light of Brandenburg was downloaded on December 23th, 2009.
In April 2010 3 Planetary Cities of Light was removed from the list, as there was no active GOF members on site to reactivate the cities on a regular basis, which is an requirement.
On May 22. 2010, the second round of Cities of Light was downloaded and activated. GOF has now 26 Planetary Cities of Light.
The third round of Planetary Cities of Light was downloaded on 10-10-10 during a GOF workshop at Mt. Shasta. Group of 40 has now 39 Planetary Cities of Light.
On March 21, 2011 three nominated Planetary Cities of Light was downloaded during GOF Spring Equinox workshop in Sedona, Arizona: Auckland (New Zealand), Schalkenmehren (Germany) and Spruce Mountain/Groom Creek (Arizona, USA).
Nelson Bay City of Light was downloaded during June 2011 monthly lecture.
Four cities was downloaded during the July 2011 monthly lecture: La Serena, Chile; Sebucan (part of Caracas), Venezuela; Belleville, Ontario, Canada and Breda, Netherlands.
Two Planetary Cities of Light was downloaded in Brazil during August 13, 2011 GOF workshop: Jupia neighborhood in Piracibaba and Palmeira in are called Capao.
Three Planetary Cities of Light was downloaded during our monthly lecture in October - Vale das Borboletas and Shangri-la in Brazil and Twin Falls in Idaho, USA.
Downloading of the Planetary Cities of Light by Group of Forty is now an ongoing process.
